    It is sometimes suggested that alcohol alleviates anxiety and promotes relaxation, but in actual fact consuming alcohol can actually cause anxiety. Alcohol effects your mood and can affect your bodily functions in the following ways:

    • Elevated heart rate
    • Your Serotonin levels
    • Dehydration
    • Hyperactive nervous system

    Alcohol also contains sugar and as we just found out, this can cause fluctuating blood sugar levels, which can produce symptoms of confusion, dizziness, nervousness and restlessness.
